Client Configuration
System Table
To enable the Third Party Update Utility, the following configuration values must be added to or updated in the System table (t_system):
Code | Description | Functionality |
---|---|---|
TPAINITCON | Exclude Initial Considerations (Y/N) | Controls the Update Utility ‘One Time Fee Billing Dates’ tab. |
TPAPRODVOL | Use Production Volumes Flag (Y/N) | Determines whether Maintenance Fees are proposed using Production Volumes. |
TPASOURCE | Public Data Sources (IHS or GDC) | Defaulted to DISABLED upon upgrade |
Server INI
The Server INI External Data Link must be updated to reflect the client link to the source (field size = 100). This is specific to the client; contact your IT Department if help is required. (Note: Asset Utilities also uses this field.)
The 'Send to Excel' functionality uses the Server INI Temporary Path to find a folder to store the MS Excel spreadsheet before opening it on the user's screen. Most clients will already have this path defined; if not, please contact P2 Energy Solutions. (If no path entered in that field, the function will attempt to find the appropriate CS folder on the user's C:Drive. This will not work for certain clients, i.e. if access is not granted to the C:Drive or if the client is hosted.)
Validation Tables
TPA Status Category - The TPA Status Category table is seeded with the following values: DRILLING, NON-PROD, PRODUCING and SERVICE. Other statuses can be added if desired. If desired Status Precedence can be adjusted. The order column indicates the precedence of the Status Category if there are multiple events for a well with different Status Categories. Typically a Producing Category would precede a Non-producing because you would want to bill a Producing Status over a Non-producing Status.
TPA Status - The TPA Status table now has a Status Category column. No values are seeded. To use the Update Utility, TPA Statuses (specifically those that apply to wells that should be updated by the Update Utility) must have a Status Category assigned to them. It is not necessary to add Status Category to all TPA Status records. Typically only those TPA Statuses that relate to Drilling, Producing and Non-Producing would be updated.
Industry Status Translation - Additional Configuration if Using Well Status Method
If Well Statuses are to be used to determine the proposed TPA Statuses (when TPAPRODVOL = N in the System table), then a translation table for industry statuses must be populated with industry statuses and Status Category assigned to appropriate statuses.
This table can be loaded using a script for either IHSData or Geologic data which is provided by P2. P2 has suggested Status Categories for many of the industry statuses. Client should review to ensure the assigned Status Categories meet their needs.
Not all industry statuses need to have a Status Category. For example, Update Utility proposes Drilling statuses based on spud and rig release dates, so any ‘drilling’ type industry statuses typically do not need to be assigned a Status Category.
This table is not available through the Validation Table option. It is opened for viewing from the ‘Code Translation’ button at the bottom of each tab in the Update Utility. Maintenance (for example changing or adding the Status Category) is done in this window.
If the Update Utility encounters a new status (one that does not exist in this translate table) the new status will be added, and client/user will come into this table to update the Status Category. An ‘Industry Status Search’ is provided. Columns can be sorted by clicking the column headings.
