FAQ

You can copy existing royalty information from any mineral or contract document to any other mineral or contract document in the system, even if the documents are not related. Once you copy a royalty, you can make changes to the original royalty without affecting the copied royalty. Note, however, that royalties may only be copied using the copy function associated with the Royalty tab. That is, royalties are not copied when you copy sub information from one document to another. To copy existing royalty information to a new royalty record:

1. Navigate to the Royalty tab.

2. Select Copy. The system displays the Royalty Copy Options pop-up window.

3. In the Click Link field, choose if you want to copy royalty information from Mineral Leases or Contracts.

4. Select OK. The system displays the File Number pop-up window.

5. In the Enter File Number field, enter the number of the document from which you want to copy existing royalty information or select Browse and select the document.

6. Select OK. The system displays the Copy Royalty from Document pop-up window and a list of the royalty records held in the document that you selected.

7. Highlight the royalty record that you want to copy.

  • Tip: Optionally, select Browse to view details of a royalty record before you copy the royalty information.

  • Tip: Optionally, select Select Document to select a different document from which to copy royalty information.

8. Select Copy. The system updates the Royalty Summary tab.

9. You can use the Royalty Detail Window to change any of the copied royalty information before you save the document.

  • Note: The system automatically unlinks all Paid To and Paid By royalty DOIs that were linked on the original, copied royalty. You can either create a link to the new royalty DOIs or add a new Paid To and Paid By royalty DOI.

10. Save your work.
