The system maintains an audit trail of all changes that you make to Mineral Lease and Contract DOIs. Whenever you save a DOI to which you made changes, the system displays the Changing DOI Options pop-up window.

The fields comprising the Changing DOI Options window are as follows:

Effective Date of DOI

The system populates this field with the effective date on the original DOI.

Effective Date of Change

The system automatically sets the Effective Date of Change field to the current date, therefore this is really the inputted date. However, you can change the effective date of change to any date you want, provided that the date you enter is not later than the current date or earlier than the effective date on the original DOI.

Expired DOI Comment

The system populates this field with the comment from the original DOI.

Current DOI Comment

The system populates this field with the comment from the new (current) DOI.

  • Note: When you change a Contract DOI, the system expires the original DOI and creates a new DOI record based on the changes that you made. The system records the expired DOI in the audit trail tables.
