Introduction

Specialized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be created by grouping together data in a way to highlight anomalies.

 

Specialized Reporting KPIs

To create a Key Performance Indicator (KPI):

Navigate to the Qbyte Financial menu and select Master Data > Specialized Reporting KPIs

Define the KPI

In the header section, enter KPI information choosing a unique name for each KPI.

ID

This will populate when the Specialized Reporting KPI is created (system generated).

Name

The name used to distinguish the KPI.  Should be a unique name.

Status

Indicates if the KPI is ACTIVE (will be visible in Qbyte Optix) or INACTIVE (will not be visible in Qbyte Optix). 

Denominator

Indicates the type of data that will be used in the denominator of the calculation.

Denominator List of Values:

ACCTS                ACCOUNTS

ACCT_TYPE         ACCOUNT TYPE

BOE                     BARRELS OF OIL EQUIVALENT

BOE_DAY            BARRELS OF OIL EQUIVALENT PER DAY

MCFE                  THOUSAND CUBIC FEET EQUIVALENT

MCFE_DAY         THOUSAND CUBIC FEET EQUIVALNET PER DAY

Display KPI Calculation As

Indicates how the resultant calculated KPI value will be displayed.  

Display KPI Calculation As List of Values:

AMT    AMOUNT          available when denominator is ACCTS, ACCT_TYPE, BOE or MCFE

PCT     PERCENTAGE   available when denominator is ACCTS or ACCT_TYPE

VOL     VOLUME          available when denominator is BOE_DAY or MCFE_DAY

Select the Numerator Accounts

A range of accounts can be added or deleted using the Add/Delete (A/D) drop down, as well as individual accounts can be added to or deleted from the Numerator Accounts grid.

To add a range of accounts, or delete a range of accounts, enter information in the Numerator Account Range section.

Once information is entered, navigate to the Numerator Accounts section to show the changes.

From Acct

Enter the beginning range major/minor account to be added or deleted from the numerator accounts. Accounts with a number greater than or equal to the number entered will be selected. This value can be selected from the Accounts list of values.

To Acct 

Enter the ending range major/minor account to be added or deleted from the numerator accounts. Accounts with a number less than or equal to the number entered will be selected. This value can be selected from the Accounts list of values.

Add/Delete (A/D) 

Determines whether the range of accounts will be added to, or deleted from the numerator, values include:

A - Will add the range of accounts to the account group.

D - Will delete the range of accounts from the account group. 

To add an account to a numerator, enter information in the Numerator Accounts section.

Account Major

The account major. This value can be selected from the Accounts list of values.

Account Minor 

The account minor.  This value can be selected from the Accounts list of values.

Description 

The account description.

This field cannot be modified. 

Select the Denominator Accounts

If the Denominator of your KPI is "ACCTS" or "ACCT_TYPE" you will need to define the accounts or account type that will be used in the calculation.

ACCTS

Either AMT or PCT

A range of accounts can be entered in the Denominator Account Range section or account major/minors can be added individually to the Denominator Accounts section.

ACCT_TYPE

Either AMT or PCT

Account Type codes are entered in the Denominator Account Types section.

Account types can be chosen from the List of Values popup.

BOE

AMT

No denominator accounts required.

Total BOE will be used for the denominator.

BOE_DAY

VOL

No denominator accounts required. 

BOE per day will be used for the denominator.

MCFE

AMT

No denominator accounts required.  

Total MCFE will be used for the denominator.

MCFE_DAY

VOL

No denominator accounts required.

MCFE per day will be used for the denominator.

Account Type Code

Enter the account type code or select from the Account Types list of values.

All accounts with the selected account type will be used in the denominator.

Running the Qbyte Optix reports with the Specialized Reporting KPIs

Initially, the Specialized KPIs widget is available in Qbyte Optix as part of the Summarized Operations Trends report only.

Summarized Operations Trends Example:

Navigate to the Specialized KPIs widget.  The default Specialized KPI Selection Method is Do not include Specialized KPIs.

To include Specialized KPIs on your report output, select Enter Specialized KPI Criteria.  The Specialized Reporting KPIs are created in Qbyte Financial first and the Available Specialized KPIs section will display all ACTIVE KPIs.

Add selected rows to the Selected Specialized KPIs section from the Available Specialized KPIs section.

The Move Up and Move Down buttons allow you to control the order in which the Specialized KPIs will appear on the report output.

Once the Summarized Operations Trends report output is generated, the Specialized KPIs section will appear below the standard (Optix defined) KPIs section.

Values for Specialized KPIs will appear in each month displayed but they will not appear in the Prior or Total columns. 

The Specialized KPIs section will appear in all three report output modes of Optix:   HTML (shown above), PDF (shown below) and Excel (shown below).
