How to Link a Well to Contract or Lease-Owned DOIs

Back to Division of Interest (DOI) / Working Interest (W.I.) Overview

Before you can link a Well to a contract- or lease-owned DOI, you must make the contract- or lease-owned DOI available for linking by setting up the Contract or Mineral Lease that maintains the DOI in the Related Contracts or Related Mineral tab of the Well document. When you search for DOIs to link the Well document to, the system automatically displays all of the contract- or lease-owned DOIs that are set up in all of the Contract documents and Mineral Leases related to the Well.

To link a well to a contract- or lease-owned DOI:

1. Select Link. The system displays the Well DOI Link Options pop-up window.

2. In the Select Link field, choose Contracts or Mineral Leases to specify whether you want to link to a contract-owned or lease-owned DOI.

3. Select OK. The system displays a list of available DOIs in the Well Linking DOIs window.

4. In the Well Linking DOIs window,

Highlight the appropriate DOI and Select Link. The system updates the Well DOI Summary tab.
To view the above DOI, highlight it and Select Browse.
Select Close to close the Well Linking DOIs window and return to the Well DOIs Summary tab.

5. Save your work.
