SUMMARY

File Repository (previously known as the J Drive)

Qbyte Metrix output files (i.e. Petrinex Submissions, Financial Voucher, JIBLink, Petrotranz Oil Shipper Split, Production History, Inlet Volumes, Manitoba Government Reporting, IOGC Royalty, BC S1/S2, BC08, and BC09) are now saved directly to the Qbyte Metrix database in addition to the mapped directories (Administration → System Configuration → Directories).

Previously, you had to retrieve all output files generated by Qbyte Metrix via the mapped directories. Access to the mapped directories will be unavailable as of this Qbyte Metrix release, but this enhancement provides you with the ability to access the generated output files from within the Qbyte Metrix application.

Note: Mapped Directories are commonly known as the J Drive.

The generated output files can be accessed through the following screens:

  • The Process Monitor Output Files tab: The Process Monitor screen now displays a new tab (next to the existing Message Centre and Job Message tabs) called Output Files.

  •

    • If a processed job produced any output files, this new tab is enabled, and the output files can be accessed via the new Output Files tab, where the Output Type, File Name, and File Size are displayed.

    • The File Name is displayed as a clickable link for users with access to the new security component FileRespository (See Security Components ).

    • Clicking the link under the File Name column will provide standard browser options to open and save the file.

Note: Standard Windows File Associations must be set up to allow for the Open option to be available.

  • The new File Repository screen :

    • Accessible with a new link beside the Qbyte Optix link.

    • Displays all files that have been saved directly to the Qbyte Metrix database.

    • The File Name is displayed as a clickable link for users with access to the new security component FileRespository (See Security Components ).

    • Clicking the link under the File Name column will provide standard browser options to open and save the file.

Note: Standard Windows File Associations must be set up to allow for the Open option to be available.

  • Unwanted files can be deleted by users with Full Access to the new security component FileRespository (See Security Components ).

Note:

  • If the File Size is zero, the file is not displayed as a link and cannot be clicked.

  • Only the .XML output for JIBLink is created within the Qbyte Metrix application. As of this Qbyte Metrix release, you are not able to submit the .LST and .CSV outputs to JIBLINK.

    • The Financial Interface output files are still created within the mapped directory.

JIBLink .LST and .CSV outputs are no longer created

As of this Qbyte Metrix release, you are not able to submit the .LST and .CSV outputs to JIBLINK. Only the .XML output for JIBLink is created within the Qbyte Metrix application (File Repository). See the above release note for more information.

Added a user defined field to the Qbyte Metrix Operated and Partner Operated pricing screens

A new user-defined comment field has been added to the Operated Pricing screen (Explorer → Pricing), and the Partner Operated Pricing tab (Explorer → Balance → Pricing tab). Qbyte Metrix User Defined fields (Administration → System Configuration → User Defined Labels) are configurable. You can modify the Field Label UserDefined1 for MarketMasterPurchaserPrice.userDefined1 and PartnerOpBatteryPrice.userDefined1. The Field Required allows you to specify whether the new field is to be validated (entered or not entered).

These user-defined fields can be used to reconcile your Purchaser Statements with the Qbyte Metrix sales volumes and values for both operated and partner operated facilities. These new fields are carried through Qbyte Metrix through Step Processing and are saved into History during the Month End Close process. The new fields can also be accessed via existing Qbyte Optix for Qbyte Metrix reports and extracts.

  • Pricing screen (operated): A new User Defined (UserDefined1) field has been added to the right of the Value column within the Purchasers grid.

    • Partner Operated Balance:

      • Pricing tab: A new User Defined (UserDefined1) field has been added to the right of the Entered Value column within the Pricing tab.

      • Sales tab: A new User Defined (UserDefined1) field has been added to the right of the Purch Seq#. column. This a display-only field and is updated from the User Defined Field entered on the Pricing row used to calculate the Sales Value. When the Allocate button and the Sales tab is priced, the associated User Defined field value will be updated.

Note: The Month End Close process will copy the entered User Defined fields to the new month as well as into History.

  • Market Master Copy and Market Master Mass Copy - Enhanced to copy the new User Defined field.

    • Qbyte Optix reports:

      • Production and Sales Distribution Details report: A Pricing User Defined field is displayed in the Excel Unformatted output only. This field is populated by the Operated Pricing User Defined field or the Partner Operated Pricing User Defined field.

      • Sales Pricing Summary report: The Operated Pricing User Defined field is displayed in the Excel Unformatted output only.

      • Partner Operated Facility Process Details report: The new Partner Operated User Defined field is included in the Excel Unformatted output only.

      • Partner Operated Facility Process Summary report: The new Partner Operated User Defined field is included in all formats of the report (HTML, PDF output, Excel Formatted output, and Excel Unformatted output).

      • Sales Details History Data Extract: A Pricing User Defined field can be selected to be included in the data extract. This field is populated by the Operated Pricing User Defined field or the Partner Operated Pricing User Defined field.

Creating and Editing Amendments from the Explorer

Amendments can now be created and edited from within the Explorer.

When a prior month closed control group is selected from the Explorer, a new menu option Create New Amendment is displayed on the right-hand menu of the Explorer. If an amendment already exists, a new menu option  Edit Amendment is displayed. Existing security components are used to allow you access to these two new menu options.

Additionally, when a closed control group is selected, the control group is highlighted within the Schematic window by default.

Spreadsheet Import Template

Spreadsheet imports provide a quick way to get data loaded. The following templates have been added to Qbyte Metrix:

  • INDIANROYALTYGCA - This template can be used to update the Gas Cost Allowance Rates by Royalty Entity Type and ID

  • ROYALTYOBLIGATIONFACTOR  - This template can be used to Create/Update Royalty Obligation Factor Masters.

  • OBLIGATIONFACTORVALUE - This template can be used to update Royalty Obligation Factor Values.

Qbyte Metrix now has 18 templates that provide flexibility when importing or updating your data.

Display warning message when the Month End Close process has begun

When the first Region Close process is submitted, a message indicating that the Month End Close process has started is displayed on most Qbyte Metrix screens. This message will continue to be displayed until the Corporate Close is successful.

Note:

  • You should refrain from making changes or running processes until the Month End Close has completed.

  • This new warning message does not prevent you from logging into Qbyte Metrix or making changes to Master data/Monthly data, and it does not stop users from submitting other processes. This warning message is intended to notify you that the Month End Close process has begun without having to check the Process Monitor or to inquire from other users.

Add Sample Date to Analysis ID Maintenance screen

You can now enter a  Sample Date to an  Analysis ID within the Analysis ID Maintenance screen (Master → Analysis → Analysis ID). The Sample Date is not a mandatory field. If the System Configuration option  Sample Date Mandatory (Administration → System Configuration → Configuration tab) is set to Yes and the Sample Date is not entered, a w arning message is displayed on the Analysis ID Maintenance screen after it is saved.

  • The new Sample Date associated with an Analysis ID can now be uploaded from Field Data Capture using the  GASAN record type when the Analysis Record Type is A. The Sample Date can be uploaded using a  Fixed Format file  or a  CSV file.

  • At Month End, the Sample Date associated with the Analysis ID is carried over to the new month when the Retain Factor option is Yes (Master → Analysis → Analysis ID).

  • The Sample Date has also been added to the Consumption Usage report.

Process Monitor Report Invocation

The Owner Update Summary  report and Import Status report can now be launched directly from the Process Monitor .

  • The Owner Update Summary report generated from the Royalty Owner Mass Update process and the Owner Update process can now be launched by clicking the icon displayed to the left of the process name within the Process Monitor screen. Launching the report this way will automatically pass the appropriate report criteria to the Qbyte Optix report.

  • The Import Status report generated when the Import By Template process is run can now be launched by clicking the icon displayed to the left of the process name within the Process Monitor screen. Launching the report this way will automatically pass the appropriate report criteria to the Qbyte Optix report.

Allow only certain users to delete System Processing Locks

This enhancement provides you with the ability to identify Screen Locks vs Processing Locks and to prevent the accidental deletion of Processing Locks for processes that may be still running. Processing Locks are now displayed in red text for easy identification.

A new security component SystemEventUnlockEdit (Maintain Processing Locks → System) has been created and has not been added to any existing roles, as this particular security component should only be used by select individuals.

  • Having Full Access to the new security component SystemEventUnlockEdit (Maintain Processing Locks → System) will allow you to delete System Processing Locks (identified in red ) displayed within the Maintain Processing Locks grid. System Processing Locks are created by a submitted job (i.e. Step Processing).

  • Having Full Access to the existing security component FacilityUnlockEdit (Maintain Processing LocksScreen) now only allows you to delete Screen Locks. To delete System Processing Locks, the above security component is required.

See Security Components for more details.

SUMMARY

Royalty Formula Factors - New and renamed

A new Sales Value: Ownership Gas and Products Royalty Formula System Value Factor has been added to Qbyte Metrix. The value of this factor is the sum of the sales value for all gas and product sales for the selected Ownership criteria. Using this new factor within a formula allows you to calculate a royalty obligation based on an owner(s) sales value for gas and products.

To better identify Sales-based Royalty Formula Factors, the following existing factors have been renamed:

  • Sales: Ownership Value to Sales Value: Ownership

  • Sales: Ownership Volume to  Sales Volume: Ownership

Royalty Obligation Factors screen -Redesigned

In the Royalty Obligation Maintenance screen, the Obligation Factors tab previously required you to enter data for a single obligation factor and save it before continuing to the next factor. The grid within the Obligation Factors tab has been enhanced to allow you to enter data for all obligation factors at once for the selected royalty obligation before saving.

Previously, a Factor button allowed you to change the monthly input of the global factor or create a new User-Defined Global Factor . The button has now been changed to a Factor link.

New IOGC Gas Only Gas Cost Allowance Type to calculate Gas Cost Allowance

Qbyte Metrix now provides you with the ability to calculate IOGC Gas Cost Allowance (GCA) based on either All Gas and By-Products or Gas Only.

A new Gas Cost Allowance Type field has been added to the Pricing by Royalty ID screen. This field defaults to All Gas and By-Products. If you require Gas Cost Allowance (GCA) to be calculated using only the Gas Royalty and Gas Revenue and for it to be deducted from your Gas Royalty, you can now choose the new Gas Cost Allowance Type of Gas Only.

The GCA calculation for a specific well/unit when the Gas Cost Allowance Type is set to Gas Only will be as follows:

  • GCA Royalty Percent = Royalty Value for all Gas or Raw Gas Obligations / Sales Value for Gas or Raw Gas

  • GCA Deduction = Gas Marketable Sales Volume X GCA Rate X GCA Royalty Percent

The GCA Deduction will then be allocated back down to all Gas or Raw Gas obligations based on each one’s original royalty value and their royalty value will be adjusted by the share of the GCA Deduction allocated to them.

Note: This calculation differs from the All Gas and By-products option in the calculation of the GCA Royalty Percent which accumulates royalty value and sales value for all Gas and By-Products and similarly in the allocation of the calculated GCA Deduction back down to obligations for all gas and by-products.

Well Integration

As a Qbyte Metrix user, you are now able to select an Effective Date to integrate the well from.

Previously when a well(s) was integrated, Well Masters were created from the Qbyte Metrix Implementation Date to the Current System Production Date.

A new Integration Configuration option (Application IntegrationMaintain → Configuration) allows you to choose whether to continue with existing functionality or to select an Effective Date to integrate the well from.

The Effective Date is now displayed on the Well Integration tab (Application IntegrationProcessWell).

  • The Effective Date is enabled and is defaulted to the Current System Production Date when the new Integration Configuration option Enable Well Integration Effective Date is Yes.

  • You can choose to change the Effective Date before integrating the well(s).

  • If the new Integration Configuration option Enable Well Integration Effective Date is No, the Effective Date is defaulted to the Qbyte Metrix Implementation Date and is disabled.

Note: When a new well is integrated, Well Masters are generated from the Effective Date to the System Current Production Date. When an existing well is integrated, all existing Well Master records are updated regardless of the Effective Date.

Owner Integration

The following enhancements have been made to the Owner Integration tab ( Application IntegrationProcessOwner ):

  • The NRT is now displayed on the Owner Integration tab (Application IntegrationProcessOwner ). See  Integrating the NRT  for more information.

NOTES

Missing Volumetric REC for non-gas flow battery to battery gas transfer

Issue: In a non-gas flow control group, a battery to battery transfer did not generate the corresponding REC row in the Volumetric.

Resolution: The Volumetric now correctly reports REC records for non-gas flow battery to battery transfers.

Note: Clients who upgrade from Qbyte Metrix 1.10 to a newer version of Qbyte Metrix will encounter the above issue. As a workaround, the missing records can be created using WIP or upgrade to Qbyte Metrix 1.14.

Microsoft Edge Print pop-up makes Qbyte Metrix Close button unresponsive

On Qbyte Metrix screens such as the Well Theoretical Summary or Oil Disposition Validations, clicking Print causes the Close or Cancel button to become unresponsive.

Workaround: The screen must be exited by closing the web browser window.
