Additional Products
Introduction
Additional Products allow clients the ability to process more products at a facility than it was possible to do before. Additional Products functionality is available at plants, gas flow batteries and gas flow gathering systems. When using this functionality, please be aware that each province has its own rules as to which products are valid and which are not.
The concept of a parent product versus a child product has been introduced to Metrix to make Additional Products easy to use. Most of the products made available as Additional Products are considered to be child products (i.e. C3MX, C3SP, IC4MX, etc.). The term “child” product is used because this product is a specific variation of a base or “parent” product (such as C2, C3, C4, etc). Users are allowed to perform some maintenance at the parent or child level. For example, if a facility is processing both C3MX and C3SP, then the allocations, market master, and pricing must be performed at the individual product (child) level. However, the facility charges, royalty obligations, and financial bookings can be (and in most cases will be) at the parent level (C3 product). Rather than being set up this way, you can choose to set up facility charges, royalty obligations, and financial booking entries at the child product level (if you choose to do so).
For royalty obligations set up at a parent product level, the actual royalty calculation is based on the accumulation of all products considered to be under that product, including the product itself. For example, an obligation that is set up on C3 is based on the accumulation of C3, C3MX, and C3SP for the obligation entity.
For facility charges set up at a parent product level, the actual charge calculation is based on the accumulation of all products considered to be under that product, including the product itself. For example, a charge set up on C4 is based on the accumulation of any C4, C4MX, C4SP, IC4MX, IC4SP, NC4MX and NC4SP data, of the appropriate primary retrieval type, for the entities being charged.
For financial bookings, priority is given to the entry definition used. For example, when booking a C3MX Sale, Metrix first looks for a matching entry definition using C3MX as the product. If an entry definition is not found, Metrix looks for a C3 entry definition matching all other criteria. If you only have C3 entry definitions set up, this will result in the C3MX and C3SP being accumulated and booked under the same account on the voucher.

Master Setup
Maintain Products at a Facility
When a plant is on production, the Products grid on the Plant Production tab will be displayed with a default product row. The default product is GAS. The default allocation method will be Not Applicable. The allocation method must be changed before the plant can be saved.
In View mode (Plant Production tab, GGS Gas Flow tab and Battery Gas Flow tab), only the products with an allocation method of Not Applicable will be displayed. In Edit mode, at least one product row is always displayed with an allocation method of Not Applicable.
At the plant the product will be GAS for a non-gas flow plant.
Gas flow plants will display two default product rows of GAS and RAWGAS.
While at the gas flow GGS and battery, the product will be RAWGAS.
To Add a Product to the Grid:
1. Select a product from the drop-down list along with an allocation method.
2. Select the Add button.
Alternatively:
3. Select the Add Multiple Products button to add more than one product at a time.
To Remove a Product from the Grid:
1. Select the checkbox on the left of the product and then the Delete Row(s) button.
Add Multiple Products
When the Add Multiple Products button is selected, (in Edit mode from the Plant Production tab or the Gas Flow tab of GGS's and batteries), a window will pop-up. Products are searchable by product Code, Description and/or Parent Product.
The default for the search does not include child products. To see child products in the search, click the Include Child Products box and then click Search again.
Balance Screens
The Balance screens (Plant, GGS, and Battery Gas Flow Balance) now allow you to enter balance details for newly added products.
Pricing
This screen will only display products applicable to the selected facility. Therefore, the Edit Default Prices grid size will be smaller or larger depending on the amount of products processed at the facility with an allocation method other than Balance Only.
