Introduction

Metrix has the ability to Maintain Control Group Security for Users for multiple Production Months. This functionality provides the user the ability to Add, Modify, Delete and Copy Control Group Security.

Security Components

A new security component MassControlGroupSecurity has been added to Metrix. This security component has not been added to any existing roles. It is up to individual clients to add the new Security Component to the required Roles.

This new security component provides access to a new Control Group Security Utility (located at Administration > Utilities).

Mass Control Group Security Maintenance

The utility functions by selecting an Action. An Action can be Add, Modify, Delete, or Copy. Once an Action is selected, you are then allowed to enter criteria for the Action and Create, Modify, Delete or Copy security.

Criteria consists of a User, the ability to select all Control Groups or one, and a Production Date Range.

Action = Add

This Action can be used to add Control Group Security for all or one Control Group for a single date or a Date Range for one user at a time. The user must be an Active User.

Selecting the Add Control Group Security from the above screen will create Control Group Security for the Selected User, Control Group (or ALL) and for the Production Date Range.

If the Control Group ID does not exist in a particular Production Month, the security for the User for the Control Group will not be created for that month.

Action = Modify

This Action can be used to modify Control Group Security for all or one Control Group for a single date or a Date Range for one user at a time. The user must be an Active User.

Once a User, a Control Group (or ALL) and a valid Production Date Range are entered, you must select the Retrieve Control Group Security button. If Control Group Security exists for the selected source criteria, the grid will be populated.

Select one or many Control Group Security records to modify.
The Approver Status and the Control Group Role are the only two data elements that can be modified.
Selecting the Perform Modification button will update the selected Control Group Security records.

Action = Delete

This action can be used to delete Control Group Security for Users. Inactive users or users that should no longer have access to certain or all Control Groups can now be easily removed.

Once a User, a Control Group (or ALL) and a valid Production Date Range are entered, the user must select the Retrieve Control Group Security button. If Control Group Security exists for the selected Source criteria, the grid will be populated.

Select one or more Control Group Security records to delete.
Selecting the Delete Control Group Security button will delete the selected Control Group Security records.

Action = Copy User ID to User ID

This action can be used to Copy one user’s Control Group Security to another user. This Action can be utilized when a User is no longer with the company or is away for a period of time and another user needs to take over the responsibilities and therefore needs the same Control Group Security.

Once a user, a Control Group (or ALL) and a valid Production Date Range is entered, you must select the Retrieve Control Group Security button. If Control Group Security exists for the selected Source criteria, the grid will be populated.

You can then select one or many Control Group Security records to Copy to another user.
Select a user to Copy the Control Group Security. The Destination User must be an Active User.
Selecting the Copy Control Group Security button will create Control Group Security records for the Destination User.

Action = Copy Date to Date

This action can be used to Copy one user’s Control Group Security from one Production Date to multiple Production Dates for the same user. This Action can be utilized when a user’s Control Group Security has been setup for one month and now the same Control Group Security is needed for the same user for Multiple Dates.

Once a user, a Control Group (or ALL) and a valid Production Date is entered, you must select the Retrieve Control Group Security button. If Control Group Security exists for the selected Source criteria, the grid will be populated.

The grid will always be populated with Control Group Security for the selected Source Production Date.

Select one or many Control Group Security records to Copy to Production Date Range.
Selecting the Copy Control Group Security button will create Control Group Security records for the Destination Production Date Range.
If the Production Date Range includes the Source Production Date, an information message will be displayed on the screen and the month will be skipped.
