To close windows, always use the Cancel button. This will correctly close the underlining files for that screen. We do not recommend using the X in the top right corner to close windows, as it may cause the facility to lock. These are referred to as Screen Locks. Once a screen is locked the user is unable to edit until the lock is removed.

When a facility is processed (Step processing), the system also creates another type of lock referred to as a System Locks. System Locks prevent the user from re-submitting the same job before the submitted job is complete.

Locks can be maintained using the Maintain Processing Locks menu option. See Security Components for how to set up users to have access to, and to clear the locks displayed on this screen.

Remove a Screen Lock

If you have locked a screen:

1. Navigate to the Administration tab.

2. Select the Utilities tab.

3. Select Processing Locks.

4. Highlight the line that needs to be unlocked and then the Delete Row(s) button.

Remove a System Lock

If you have a System Lock:

1. Navigate to the Administration tab.

2. Select the Utilities tab.

3. Select Processing Locks.

4. All System Locks will be displayed in  red.

5. Normally Systems Locks are removed when the job has completed. Rarely, if the job ends in error, this option can be used to delete the System Lock the process left behind.

6. Highlight the line that needs to be unlocked, and then click the Delete Row(s) button.

Security Components

Unlocking Screen Locks and System Locks are maintained by three security components.

1. FacilityUnLockView (View Processing Locks) - Controls user access to the Menu option (Administration > Utilities > Processing Locks).

2. FacilityUnLockEdit (Maintain Processing Locks - Screen) - Control user access to delete Screen Locks.

3. SystenEventUnlockEdit (Maintain Processing Locks - System) - Control  user access to delete System Locks. This security component should only be added to one user role, if possible (i.e. Administrator). All users should not be allowed the ability to delete System Locks, as System Locks are removed when the process ends.
