Browser Settings
Pop-up blocker
The Process Monitor (previously called Job Submissions) must have pop-ups enabled to view output files. Google Chrome's default settings will block pop-ups from displaying. When a pop-up window is blocked, the address bar will display Pop-Up blocked.
In order to view files in Qbyte Financial in either the process monitor or to view exported files, pop-ups will need to be turned off. This functionality can be turned off using the following steps:
Upon receiving the Pop-Up blocked notification, select the red ‘X’ on the address bar.
Choose Always allow pop-ups from [site] and select Done.
Save web passwords
Google Chrome contains functionality to save web passwords. This functionality can be turned off using the following steps:
In Google Chrome, select the More icon , then Settings.
Under the Autofill and passwords section, select Google Password Manager.
Remove saved passwords.
Autofill fields
Google Chrome contains functionality to autofill online forms. This functionality can be turned off using the following steps:
In Google Chrome, select the More icon , then Settings.
Under the Autofill and passwords section, select Addresses and more.
Turn off Autofill settings.
Functions within the Screens
Query
To invoke query mode, users can use the F8 hotkey, or select the Search icon on the toolbar. The Search icon will display blue when in query mode , white when in edit mode , and grey when in read mode . To execute a query, users can use the F9 hotkey, or select the search icon while the icon is blue. To cancel a query, users can use the Ctrl + Q hotkey, or select the Exit icon on the toolbar.
Pagination/Scrolling Within Grids
When navigating through screens that have > 500 rows in a table or grid, Qbyte Financial will use paging. Using the down arrow key in the last row of a table or grid will navigate to the next page. The scroll bar will operate in the same manner. Some examples of screens that utilize pagination are:
TDES
TDQS
Inquiry Screens
Custom List of Values (LOV)
When navigating through screens that have < 500 rows in a table or grid, Qbyte Financial will use scrolling, similar to previous versions of Qbyte Financial. Using the down arrow key in the last row of a table or grid will navigate to the next row. Navigating via the scroll bar will operate in the same manner. Some examples of screens that utilize scrolling are:
AFEs
Cost Centres
DOI Decks
DOI Links
Bank Deposits
Offset Invoices
Grids
Grids will not include LOV icons, drop-down indicators, or any other type of visual unless the focus is in that field.
Navigating within List of Values
In the List of Values pop up screens, navigate through the records by using the scroll bar on the left of the pop-up, or use the Shift + Up and Shift + Down hotkeys.
Required Fields
Required fields are highlighted in red. The Field must be entered message is no longer received.
Decimals
When an entered has .00, navigating to the field the amount will display the amount as a whole number (without decimals). Upon navigating away from the field, the decimal places will be displayed.
Hot Keys
To bring up a list of hot keys, navigate to a Qbyte Financial screen and use CTRL + ALT + K.
Opening a Second Screen
Qbyte Financial will close each screen as you leave it or navigate to a new screen, prompting you to save or lose unsaved changes. A second screen can be opened in a new tab or window by right-clicking the screen name in the menu and selecting from the pop-up window:
Open link in a new window - a new browser window will open with the Qbyte Financial screen open.
Open link in a new tab - a new tab will open on your browser.
Navigating to the new tab will have the Qbyte Financial screen open.
Click on the menu item and dragging to a new tab will also open the link.
Exporting to Microsoft Excel
Exporting to Microsoft Excel using Chrome or Edge browser.
In Google Chrome the Excel file is created as a download and the user selects the file name to open it from the downloads in the top right corner of the browser.
In Microsoft Edge the Excel file is created as a download and the user selects the file name to open it from the downloads in the top right corner of the browser.
Exporting Grids to Excel
When in a table or grid, users can use the CTRL + D hotkey to export the data into Microsoft Excel.
For example navigate into the grid portion of a screen:
Using CTRL + D will create a download file which can be opened in excel:
