Attributes

An attribute is a property of an object. Attributes are named using CamelCase with the first letter in lower case. An attribute of an object usually consists of a name and a value.  Attributes can be customized in Optix by changing the name and the short name. This controls what is displayed on reports and on the user interface.  Attribute names are changed by Locale.  Additionally, the user can control how the attributes appear on the summary reports and the order of the attributes by updating the applicable values for the object.

  • The Query Flag controls whether or not the attribute is offered in the list of values on the Advanced Search widget.

  • The Display Flag controls whether or not the attribute is included on the output.  The Display Order controls the order in which the columns are displayed in the summary listing.

Attribute changes in the Logical Model must be saved by invoking the Save button.  Once saved, attribute changes in the Logical Model are not reflected to the users until the Reset All Cache button is invoked.

In the Advanced Attribute Search of a widget (for example Cost Centres), the type of attribute dictates the available functions for advanced attribute search functionality:

How to set up User Defined Fields (UDF's) in Optix

To query/display UDF’s (User Defined Fields) in Qbyte Metrix for Batteries, Wells, Units, etc:

  • Select the object (or leave it blank to see all) and the attribute where it contains the word “custom”.

  • All UDF’s are called customContent in Optix.

  • Click Refresh Results

  • Then update the Name field (shown above) to match the UDF field in Qbyte Metrix (see screens below).

  • Click the checkbox for Query and Display (typically both are checked) to indicate that this field is to be used in both the Query (through Advanced Criteria selection or Data Extract Attributes selection).

  • As a reminder, Qbyte Metrix allows you to override User Defined Labels on Metrix screens (as shown below).

In this example, the User Defined 2 field on the Well Maintenance screen has been overridden to Pumper Well.

By overriding the Attribute Name within Optix to match the Override User Defined Label in Metrix, the label on the Well Details report will show the override label.
