DOI Setup

For more information on how to set up a DOI, please refer to the Division of Interest DOI page.

DOI Selection

Effective Date Logic

The DOI selection process uses effective date logic which is described as:

The Activity Period on the transaction record (or the Accounting Period if the Activity Period is null) must be greater than (or equal to) the Effective Date on the DOI and must be less than (or equal to) the Expiry Date on the DOI (unless the Expiry Date is null).

Selection Steps

Below are a series of selection steps used by the application when searching for the applicable DOI. As there may be multiple DOIs set up for a CC/AFE, the system will look for the correct DOI by going through the selection steps in descending order.

For example, if no DOI is found at Step 1, the selection process will proceed to Step 2 and so on.

(1) AFE_NUM.....CC_NUM.....MAJOR_ACCT.....MINOR_ACCT

(2) AFE_NUM.....CC_NUM.....ACCT_GROUP

(3) AFE_NUM.....CC_NUM.....MAJOR_ACCT

(4) AFE_NUM.....CC_NUM

(5) CC_NUM.....MAJOR_ACCT.....MINOR_ACCT

(6) CC_NUM.....ACCT_GROUP

(7) CC_NUM.....MAJOR_ACCT

(8) CC_NUM

If at each Step, more than one DOI record is selected according to the above rules, the DOI record with the greatest Effective Date will be the one chosen.

If multiple account coding block matches are found, the DOI with the greatest Effective Date that is valid for the Production Period will be used.
