User Preferences

From the Home menu, click Manage Configurations > Appearance and Settings > Manage User Preferences

When the User Preferences screen appears, change the Model dropdown to Qbyte Metrix to see the Preferences specific to Qbyte Metrix. 

Qbyte Optix allows individual users to set their own preferences for various Qbyte Optix behaviors. This affects the general user interface and functionality of the application. User preferences may be updated through the User Preferences subtab. The User Preferences will be different depending on the Model that has been selected.  For the Qbyte Metrix (Production) model, there are five preferences that can be set:

  • The Default is **Use Corporate** (which is the Qbyte Optix default set corporately).  This indicates a user preference has not been assigned and instead the corporate preference will be used.  The value can either be left as **Use Corporate** or a user preference can be created. We suggest this option to start so any changes at the corporate level will not have to be re-done at the User level.

  • Click on View the User Preferences and Defaults to see a summary User Preferences and Defaults.

  • Preferences and Defaults are set for each Model (i.e. Financial, Land, Production, etc.)

Once the user has established their preferences they must save the changes. The Save Preferences and Defaults button will save all unsaved preferences and defaults changes.

The Clear User Preferences button will clear all of the user's preferences and reset them back to **Use Corporate**. To clear individual user preferences, the user must manually select the **Use Corporate** value. Once any user preferences have been cleared, they must be saved.

The Preferences that can be configured are: 

  1. Default Locales - If your company has multiple locales created in Optix, select the Locales to be your default for reporting purposes.  Otherwise, choose the P2 Energy Solutions locale.

  2. Open Property Browser Flag - Yes/No

  3. Debug Flag - Yes/No

  4. Well Display Name - shows as (ID/UWI/Name) or (UWI/ID/Name)

  5. Hide Report links - Yes/No

System Admin (Corporate Preferences)

Corporate preferences can only be managed by users with Optix system administration access. Optix allows system administrators to set corporate wide preferences for various Optix behaviors. This affects the general user interface and functionality of the application. Corporate preferences may be updated through the Corporate Preferences sub tab. The Corporate Preferences will be different depending on the Model that has been selected.  For the Qbyte Metrix (Production) model, there are five preferences that can be set:
