Overview

Qbyte Metrix can produce an IOGC electronic file for the IOGC Gas Royalty Statement and the IOGC Oil Royalty Statement.

IOGC had proposed changes to the current CSV file back in 2015, and the new format had been made available to software vendors even though IOGC has yet to implement the changes. As a result of this, Qbyte Metrix has created CSV files for both current and new formats (NEWVERSION appended to the end of the filename) since that time. IOGC has a target Go Live date of January 2023 to start accepting the NEWVERSION files for all production dates, including amendments. Files may contain a single production date or multiple production dates depending on how the generation of the statements is submitted.

IOGC Royalty Data Submission

Create the electronic files using the Royalties > IOGC > IOGC Royalty Data Submission screen.

DESCRIPTION

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Create file for the following month(s)

  • Production DateIOGC Statement will contain data for the entered production date only, regardless of whether it is the current month or an amendment month.

  • Production Date and Amendments:  IOGC Statement will contain data for the entered production date, regardless of whether it is the current month or an amendment month, as well as any open amendments from all other months prior to the entered production date.

Production Date

This field defaults to the current system production date but can be changed.

Submission Type

Select either Oil Statement or Gas Statement.

Province

Select either Alberta or Saskatchewan.

Royalty Payor

This is the owner responsible for the payment and reporting of IOGC royalties.

Destination Directory

The Destination Directory is set up in Administration (System Configuration > Directories > IOGC Electronic Submission)

File Name

This filename is defaulted to include the codes for royalty payor, province, production date, and product, but can be changed.

  • Special characters such as spaces, $, etc. are not valid in the file name.

Note: Two CSV files will be created: The existing format and a new format. The file with the proposed new format will have NEWVERSION appended to the filename. The NEWVERSION file cannot be submitted to IOGC at this time, however, it is available to you when the IOGC adopts the new format. IOGC has a target Go Live date of January 2023 to start accepting the NEWVERSION files for all production dates, including amendments.

For example: 0F3FAB201406OIL or 0F3FAB201406OILNEWVERSION

The output generated by this process can be viewed/downloaded one of two ways: the Output Files tab on the Process Monitor or the File Repository.
