Month End Close

Back to Month End Processes

Once all monthly functions are complete it is time to run the Month End Close. Metrix requires a Month End close to create the masters for the next production month. The Month End close copies the data into the next production month and posts data to history. The close also changes the current production date and the financial date to the next month. Closing inventories are moved to Opening inventory for the next month.

Regions must be closed independently, and then the Corporate Close is run to finalize the Financial date. The first Region to be closed will include all orphan data. Orphan data is wells, batteries etc. that are set up but not yet linked to a Control Group and Owners. The Corporate close will also include all orphans set up since the first Region close.

Month End Close Steps

The Month end roll process in Metrix is a two-step process: regional close for region specific transactional data; and a corporate close that rolls all the corporate master data into a new month.

1. For the region month end roll please go to Monthly Procedures/Monthly Close/Region

Here, by clicking on the List Control Groups option, you can ensure that all the control groups are processed and interfaced. Amended control groups that are not processed/interfaced can be carried over into the next month for further processing from the Amendment Maintenance screen (Administration/Work Management Control/Amendment Maintenance)

If everything looks okay click the Submit button. You can see the progress of the roll in the Process Monitor.

Once the Region monthly close process is finished you can start the next Region.

2. After all the regional monthly rolls are complete please navigate to the Corporate Monthly Close screen.

Under List Regions Status option you can confirm that all the regions are closed, at which point the corporate roll can be submitted.

The job status can be monitored for completion in the Process Monitor
