Although pools and lanes have no functional purpose in a task, we should continue to use them to keep our processes transparent and easy to understand. 

• Pools should represent an activity set such as AFE Approval

• Swimlanes should represent groups of responsibility: AFE Requestor, Supervisor, etc.
