Abstracts

You can generate Mineral abstracts for all or only a selected number of Mineral documents. You can run Mineral abstracts by document number, updated documents, or by area. If you want to include Acquisition/Disposition information on your Mineral abstracts, you can do so by checking the Include Acq/Disp Information check box.

Acquisition/Disposition Report (RP-0025)

The Acquisition/Disposition report lists all acreage that is under acquisition or disposition in the Mineral module. When you submit the Acquisition/Disposition report, the system automatically generates the following five reports:

  • Acquisition/Disposition Report:

    • This report lists all acquisitions and dispositions by file number.

  • Acquisition/Disposition Report Area Totals:

    • This report lists totals for each acquisition and disposition type, as well as final acquisition and disposition totals by area.

  • Acquisition/Disposition Report Province Totals:

    • This report lists totals for each acquisition or disposition type, as well as final acquisition and disposition totals by province.

  • Acquisition/Disposition Report Division Totals:

    • This report lists totals for each acquisition or disposition type, as well as final acquisition and disposition totals by division.

  • Acquisition/Disposition Report Totals:

    • This report lists totals for each acquisition or disposition type, as well as final acquisition and disposition totals for the report.

Tip: The reports list dispositions as negative amounts. For example, -320.00 acres.

Selection Options

The Date Selection specifies how the system retrieves acquisition dates, as follows:

  • Effective Date Include acquisition and disposition records in the report based on the date on which the record became effective.

  • Input Date Include acquisition and disposition records in the report based on the date on which the record was entered in the system.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by File Number.

The Alberta Energy Mineral Files Rental Reconciliation Reports provide the results of various reconciliations of Alberta Energy Mineral rental data against CS Land Mineral rental data. This particular report lists the Mineral Lease files for which the Alberta Energy rental amounts do not match those in CS Land.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by File Number.

Alberta Energy Mineral Files - Different Rental Dates

Mineral Labels

You can generate labels for all or only a selected number of Mineral documents. You can generate the Mineral labels by document number, updated documents, or by area.

Tip: For best results, use 1 inch x 4 inch labels. Be sure to choose labels designed for the type of printer ink jet or laser you are using.

Mineral Acreage Summary Report (RP-0006)

The Mineral Acreage Summary report lists gross, net, and exposure acres and hectares by acreage category. You can also specify to generate acreage totals by division, province, area, lease type, and/or lessor type.

Tip:

  • The report picks up active leases where the Count Acreage flag is set to Yes.

  • The system does not include leases where the Interest Type field on a Sub document is categorized as No Interest and where there are no owner companies in the Current DOI.

  • The system calculates net acres/hectares if the Interest Type field on a Sub document is categorized as Royalty Interest Only and there is an owner company in the Current DOI.

Selection Options Selection Options are not mandatory for this report. However, keep the following in mind when you generate the report:

  • Without Partner Selection:

    • Includes Active File Subs where the Count Acreage Flag is = Ay and the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Working Interest, Royalty Interest or Both. The Net Acreage will be calculated based on the Owner Company Interest, and if multiple Owner Companies exist in the current DOI it will be based on the combined total.

    • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a No Interest, regardless if an Owner Company exists in the DOI, the file will not be included.

  • With Partner Selection:

    • Includes Active File Subs where the Count Acreage Flag is = Ay and the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Working Interest, Royalty Interest or Both. The Net Acreage will be calculated based on the selected Partner's interest in the Current DOI.

    • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a No Interest and the selected Partner exists in the Current DOI, the file will be included and the Net Acreage calculated on the selected Partner's interest in the current DOI.

    • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a No Interest and the selected Partner does not exist in the Current DOI, the file will not be included in the report.

  • Sort Options are not available for this report because the report acreage totals are based on the Print Options that you choose. Use the report's Filter Options to narrow down the report contents to specific files only.

Tip: If you do not choose any Print Options, by default the system sorts the report by file number.

Mineral Extension Date Exception Report (RP-0055)

The Mineral Extension Date Exception report indicates those Mineral files for which the information entered in the Extensions Table and that entered in the Extension Code and Extension Date fields on the file sub do not match. For instance if, in the Extensions Table, a particular extension code is marked as requiring an extension date, and one or more file subs contain the extension code in question but no extension date, these file(s) appears on the Mineral Extension Date Exception report.

This report should be run after you set up the Extensions Table for the first time or make any change to the Extensions Table, and periodically to ensure the accuracy of your file sub data.

Mineral GNR Acreage Summary Report (RP-0007)

The Mineral Acreage Summary report lists gross, net, and royalty acres and hectares by acreage category (producing/non-producing, developed/undeveloped, or proven/unproven). You can also specify to generate acreage totals by division, province, area, lease type, and/or lessor type.

Note: The report’s Total Gross column indicates the total gross of all lands in the system. If you do not specify the acreage status on the mineral Sub document, the sum of the Gross Acres/Hectares column and Gross Royalty Acres/Hectares column may not equal the total gross amount.

  • Without Partner Selection (uses Sub Interest Type)

    • Includes Active File Subs where the Count Acreage Flag is = ‘Y’ and:

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Working Interest, Royalty Interest or Both, the Net Acreage will be calculated based on the Owner Company Interest and, if multiple Owner Companies exist in the current DOI, the Net Acreage will be based on the combined total.

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a No Interest, regardless if an Owner Company exists in the Current DOI, the file will not be included.

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Working Interest and no Owner Company exists in the Current DOI but exists in a Royalty Paidto DOI, the Gross Acreage will be displayed with no Net Acreage.

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Royalty Only Interest and an Owner Company exists in the Current DOI, the acreage is displayed as Royalty Acreage.

  • With Partner Selection (does not use Sub Interest Type):

    • Includes Active File Subs where the Count Acreage Flag is = Y and:

      • Regardless of Sub lease Interest Types, the file will be included where the Partner selected exists in either the Current DOI or in a Royalty Paidto DOI on the Mineral File Sub.

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type Interest Type is a Working Interest, Both - Working Interest & Royalty or No Interest and the Partner selected does not exist in the current DOI but exists in a Royalty Paidto DOI, the acreage will be reported as Royalty Acreage.

      • If the Sub Lease Interest Type is a Royalty Interest and the Partner selected exists in the Current DOI, the Gross Acreage will be reported based on the Acreage category on the file Sub, and the Net Acreage will be calculated based on the selected Partners interest in the Current DOI.

      • Regardless of the Sub Lease Interest Type, if the selected Partner does not exist in the Current DOI or in a Royalty Paidto DOI, the file will not be included in the report.

Note: If you uncheck all of the check boxes in the Report Totals By section, the report displays information at a file sub level along with the working interest percent for either all of the owners (default option) or just the WI partner specified in the Selection Options above.

  • If you do not choose any Report Totals By: Print Options, by default the system sorts the report by File Number.

Mineral Land Description Cross-reference Report (RP-0010)

The Mineral Land Description Cross-reference report lists all Mineral documents by the document legal land description.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by Land Description.

Mineral Lease Expiry Report
(RP-0008)

The Mineral Lease Expiry report lists all Mineral documents that are due to expire within the period for which you generate the report.

Tips:

  • The system looks to the primary Lease Term date on the base document and then to the Extension Date on the sub document to see if a lease has been extended beyond its primary term.

  • If the lease has an Extension Code of HBP (Held By Production), it will not be included in the Expiry report.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by Expiry Date.

Mineral Lease Index Report
(RP-0009)

The Mineral Lease Index lists all Mineral documents held in the system.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by File Number.

Mineral Lease Rental Per Diem Report (RP-0030)

The Mineral Lease Rental Per Diem Report calculates the amount of rent owed due to a sale based on the Sales Effective Date.  Typically, this report is run from within a project which contains the list of agreements in the sale.

The report parameters are:

  • Sales Effective Date – Enter the sales date of the disposition

  • Rentals Paid to Date - Enter the month and year of the last Rental Process that was run in CS Land

The Report displays the following information:

  • File Number and Sub

  • Lease Type

  • Lessor Type/Number

  • Rental Date:  Rental Date field from the Mineral Base tab

  • Total Sub Rental:  The Total rental field from the Mineral Sub tab

  • Owner Interest: The 'Rent DOI' from the W.I tab. Note: If 'Rent DOI' does not exist or 'JVB' is set to yes, this column will display 100%

  • Sales Eff. Date:  Report parameter date input.

  • Rental Paid to Date: Calculated based on the Rental Date month and the input Rentals Paid to Date. If the Rental has been paid for the year specified, the calculated Rental Paid To Date year will be the following year.
    For Example:

  • Number of Days: Calculated number of days between the Sales Effective Date and the calculated Rental Paid to Date +1 day

  • Per Diem Rental: Calculated as Total Rental / 365 days x Number of Days x Owner Interest

  • By default, the system sorts the report by File Number.

Mineral Lessor Cross-Reference Report (RP-0011)

The Mineral Lessor Cross-reference report lists all Lessors and the documents in which they appear. The system uses the Mineral document's Lease Number/Name fields to retrieve records for the report. If the Lease Number/Name fields are blank, the system uses the Lessor field to retrieve records for the report.

By default, the system sorts the report by Lessor Type, Lessor Name/Number, and then by File Number.

Tip: If you did not enter the Lessor Number field on the Mineral Base document, the default sort is by File Number.

Mineral Obligation (Base/Sub) Report (RP-0022/RP-0012)

The Mineral Obligation report lists all Mineral obligations that require attention during the period for which you generate the report. You can use the Print Options to have the system automatically e-mail the parties responsible for fulfilling the obligations.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by Obligation Date.

Mineral Property Report

The Mineral Property report lists lease information for all Mineral documents or for a selection of specific Mineral documents. The report includes a cover page that lists the Selection, Print, and Sort options for the report.

Tips

  • You cannot display the Mineral Property Report online before you print the report.

  • Unlike the GNR Acreage Summary Report, the Mineral Property Report will list all lands regardless of whether the owner company has an interest or not.

Running the Property Report

When you submit the Mineral Property report options the system displays the Print Property Report window. The Print Property Report window lists all leases that will be included in the report. You can use the Print Property Report window to refine the report selection list and enter Print Options for the report.

  • Sorts and Filters are not available for the Property Report, because you already specify filter and sort options when you indicate the report Selection and Print Options

Mineral Rental Calendar Report (RP-0013)

The Mineral Rental Calendar report summarizes all rentals that are scheduled for payment during the report period. The report provides a summary of information that you need to make recommendations on whether or not to pay lease rentals on a Mineral document. The system automatically displays the Mineral Rental Calendar report in Print Preview mode.

The system automatically flags with * EXPIRY * all leases that expire in the month for which you generate the Rental Calendar report. If you do not de-activate or extend the lease, the lease continues to appear in the Rental Calendar report in subsequent years, but the system does not flag the lease with the * EXPIRY * flag.

Tip: Often, companies distribute this report to the persons and/or departments that have input on making lease rental payment recommendations.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by Rental Date.

Mineral Rental Forecast Report (RP-0014)

The Mineral Rental Forecast report lists the gross and net rentals payable in a month. This report is instrumental in the budget creation process, and also helps to determine the cash balances required to meet lease rental payment obligations throughout the year.

Note: The system looks to the Owner Company(s) and not to the Payor field to determine the net rental dollars.

  • By default, the system sorts the report by Rental Month. Additional Sort Options are not available. The only available Filter Option is by Province.

Mineral Schedule A Report
(RP-0053)

The Mineral Schedule A report provides detailed information about the mineral documents in the production database and lists the documents to which they are related. You can export the report data, in the original report format, to an Excel spreadsheet.

  • By default, the system sorts the report first by legal description and then by file number.

Mineral Termination Report
(RP-0044)

The Mineral Termination report lists terminated Mineral Sub documents and displays the acreage for each Sub document, using the Acreage Category (producing/non-producing, developed/undeveloped, or proven/unproven) you specify in the Print Options.

  • If you do not choose any Report Totals By: Print Options, by default the system sorts the report by Mineral File Number.

Mineral Original Acquisition Report (RP-0043)

The Original Acquisition report summarizes all Original Acquisition information for Mineral documents.

  • If you do not choose any Report Totals By: Print Options, by default the system sorts the report by Mineral File Number. You can also sort by other available options. Use the report's Filter Options to narrow down the report contents to specific files only.
