Introduction
To maintain GGSs:
1. Select Master > Entities > Maintenance to reach GGS Maintenance, or highlight the GGS in Explorer and click either the Master, Production Master, or DOI buttons on the right-hand menu.
You can create and/or maintain GGSs in this screen.
Master
To create a new Gathering System, including the use of the Copy button, a user will need to have a Corporate role with Full Access to the GGSCreate and the GGSMaintenanceEdit security components. To delete a Gathering System a user will need to have a Corporate role with Full Access to the GGSDelete and the GGSMaintenanceEdit security components. To edit an existing Gathering System that is attached to a Control Group a user will need a Control Group role with Full Access to the GGSMaintenanceEdit security component. To edit an existing Gathering System that is not attached to a Control Group a user will need a Corporate role with Full Access to the GGSMaintenanceEdit security component.
The Master tab within GGS Maintenance captures both mandatory and optional fields that may vary by province. All fields are self-explanatory.

Production
The Production tab is where the GGS is put on or taken off production.

Gas Flow
This tab is enabled when the GGS is linked to a gas flow enabled control group.
FIELD | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
IPS Adjustment Option | This is a drop-down list with options including Adjust theoreticals by prorating actuals (excl Rem Whole), Adjust theoreticals by prorating actuals, or No adjustment option being used. The default value is No adjustment option being used and when not a Gas Flow facility, the other two options do the same thing. For a Gas Flow facility, using Adjust theoreticals by prorating actuals (excl Rem Whole) will ensure that any Remain Whole volumes being delivered into the facility are not adjusted as part of this. Note: This option is set to No adjustment option being used and is protected when the Allocation Method for products is not Ideal Product Shrinkage. |
Allocate Consumption By Usage ID | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . Default is No. Tips If you want the theoretical volumes used in production allocation to be adjusted for consumption or you want to use the various gas shrinkage reports ( Gas Shrinkage Summary Report , Gas Shrinkage Activity Details Report ), you should set Allocate Consumption By Usage ID to Yes. Only when consumption is allocated to the Usage ID is it allocated down to the entity/owner level (see Consumption Allocation for more information ). |
Recombination Required At Well | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . |
Automatically Update Gas Flow Dispositions | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . Default is Yes. Tips If you have products other than Raw Gas being processed at the gathering system, you should set Automatically Update Gas Flow Dispositions to No. Without this set to No, you will not be able to add any receipts/dispositions for the other product(s). Note: This also means that if you make any changes to the Gas on the standard GGS Balance screen, you will have to click the Update Gas Flow Dispositions and Save button on the Gas Flow Balance or manually update the Gas Flow Balance to ensure that the two Balance screens are in sync.
|
Gas Revenue Type | This is a drop-down list with options including Gigajoule or Sales Volume. |
Split Order By Delivery | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . When this option is Yes, Production Orders will be generated for each non-consumption disposition instead of a single Production Order per product. Note: This option is only taken into account when the facility is using the IPS allocation method. |
Produce Gasflow Inlet File | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . |
Use Derived Analysis | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes, Net, or No.
|
CO2 Allocation Option | This is a drop-down list with options including Do not allocate, All wells/tracts or Wells/tracts exceeding CO2 Threshold . |
Theoretical Heat Method | This is a drop-down list with options including Wellhead heat or Wellhead net of liquid. |
Maintain Products at a GGS
A row will be automatically added for RAWGAS with an Allocation Method = Not Applicable.
To Add a Product to the Grid:
1. Select a product from the drop-down list.
2. Select an Allocation Method then click the Add button.
Alternatively, you can click the Add Multiple Products button to add more than one product at a time.
To Remove a Product from the Grid:
1. Select the checkbox next to the product and then click the Delete Row(s) button.
COLUMN | DESCRIPTION |
---|---|
Product | This is a drop-down list with options including:
|
Allocation Method | This is a drop-down list with options including Not Applicable, Gathered Volume, Grouped Component, Component, Ideal Product Shrinkage, and Balance Only.
Note: Balance Only can only be used for products OIL, H2O and WCOND.
|
Components | This field is only populated for products using the Grouped Component allocation method. It is auto-populated with a comma-delimited list of the components included in the product. Note: The column header has a +/- icon that can be used to expand/collapse the size of the column. |
Enter Components | This column will contain a Enter Components link for products using the Grouped Component allocation method. Select the Enter Component link to maintain the list of components to be included in the product. |
Track Inventory | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . |
GEF | This field is auto-populated from GPSA Component Factors (Administration > Work Management Control > GPSA Component Factors). This field is modifiable and can be entered for all products other than RAWGAS, OIL, WCOND, GAS and H2O. |
Report As | This is a drop-down list with options including Yes or No . |
Override Delivery Code | This is an optional field. |
Report As Product | This optional field allows you to override how the product is reported on the Petrinex submissions. It is enabled for Alberta gathering systems, Manitoba gathering systems after the MB Petrinex Implementation D ate, Saskatchewan gathering systems, and British Columbia gathering systems after the BC Petrinex Implementation Date . Select available options from the drop-down list:
Note: If the product is already at its lowest level (MX/SP), Report As Product is disabled. Petrinex groups products together before balancing, therefore when the Qbyte Metrix product is i.e. IC4-MX and NC4-MX, Petrinex will group them as C4MX. Report As Product is also disabled for products OIL, WCOND, GAS and RAWGAS. |
Has Analysis | This is a display-only field. Entered will be displayed when an analysis is available in the text. When an analysis is not available, None will be displayed. |
Enter Analysis | Select the Enter Analysis link to add an analysis for product inventory. |
Add Multiple Products
The following window is displayed when the Add Multiple Products button is clicked (in Edit mode from the GGS Maintenance Gas Flow tab). Products can be searched by product code, description and parent product.
To Display Child Products:
1. Select the Include Child Product checkbox and then the Search button.
2. Select a product or multiple products by selecting a row(s) and then the Select and Return button to return to the previous screen.
The Allocation Method will be defaulted to what is selected as the Allocation Method on the previous screen.
If the product already exists in the previous screen, the Allocation Method will not be overwritten.
Enter Components
The following pop-up is displayed when the Enter Components link is clicked for a product using the Grouped Component allocation method. When a product is set to use the Grouped Component allocation method, by default, all components are included. The client must use the Enter Components link to modify the list of components to be included in the product.
Indicate which components are to be included in the product by setting the Selected column associated with each component and clicking the Apply button. At least one component must have Selected = Yes for the Apply to be successful. Clicking the Revert button will undo any changes made on the Enter Components screen since it was last launched, but will remain on the Enter Components screen.
