This program maintains the Revenue Accrual Master file for accrual additions, changes, reversals, and deletions. In addition, you can enter adjustments for existing reversed accruals. You must set up information for each purchaser, property, and product in Revenue Accrual Control Maintenance (REV108A) prior to entering here. You must enter Division Orders in Division Orders (REV110A), and set up any tax or expense components that you enter in Component Codes (REV125A).

Process Post Actuals And Designate Reversals (REV220A) and Accrual Generation (REV221A) prior to accessing this program for the specific company and accrual period.

If you have not processed Post Actuals And Designate Reversals (REV220A) for the selected company and period end, the following message displays and the process returns to the menu:

PERIOD END NOT THE SAME AS ACCRUED CYCLE PERIOD OF MM/DD/YY

The program begins by prompting for the company and period end date for accruals. The system then verifies the company and period end date to ensure that the period specified is open for the company and the Revenue module. Refer to COM126 (Accounting Period Control Maintenance) for additional information.

Auto Load Properties? (Y/N)

Accrual Generation (REV221A) creates a SAVELIST either when properties require manual accruals or when an accrual could not be created for a well, which is noted on the Accrual Generation report. If you enter 'Y' to this automatic select prompt, Accrual Generation (REV221) uses this SAVELIST to automatically call up each purchaser, property, and product using the entered period end date for the sale date.

If you do not want automatic selection of properties, you can manually enter those properties that need a manual accrual. You can change or delete previously entered manual accruals, and you can override or delete any generated accruals. You can also reverse posted accruals and enter adjustments as needed. For all quantity or dollar amount prompts, the program prompts for either 8/8ths or our share of the amount according to how you set up the Check Stub Master item. (Refer to Check Stub Master (REV148A). The system uses the check stub you entered in Revenue Accrual Control Maintenance (REV108A) for the purchaser/property/product. If no one entered the check stub, the system defaults to the check stub in Purchaser Property (REV100A). If you enter 8/8ths, the system calculates and displays our share amount. If you enter our share, the system calculates and displays the 8/8ths. If you enter gross value, the system calculates and displays net value, which you can change from the MODS prompt. Conversely, if you enter net value, the system calculates and displays gross value.

In general, you can use this program to access only those components specified on the Check Stub Master item. However, you can access all prompts and add components from MODS. When you access quantity or dollar amounts from Modifications, REV prompts you for 8/8ths, and if you enter <RETURN> at gross, REV prompts you for our share amounts.

Read through this entire process and familiarize yourself with the Purchaser Property Maintenance and Component Codes Maintenance processes before you enter accruals, because the data entered varies among users and purchasers.
