There are two icons on the Qbyte CS Land toolbar for the two types of Project functionality available:
Temporary Project
Temporary Project is used in conjunction with the Select filters to limit the display or reporting to specific files for a single session.
This is very useful for robust searching where you can perform multiple iterations of filter/create Temp Project to filter to the exact list of files you are looking for.
Temporary Projects can be saved as a permanent Project for future use if you choose.
Project
Project is a powerful tool that enables files from any of the Qbyte CS Land modules to be grouped into a unique project. Useful for disposition work, property management teams, or for data cleanup projects.
Create Projects
Qbyte CS Land users with the correct security roles can create Projects. If the Projects icon is greyed out, talk to your System Administrator.
Projects can be created by different types: Admin Company, Areas, Divisions, Documents, Legal Description, or Exchange.
The user creating the project can indicate if others can see, access, or update the Project they have created in User Access options.
Using Projects
After a Project has been created, it can be used in a number of ways:
Limit Access in Qbyte CS Land
Users can choose to work within a specific project; where their Qbyte CS Land session would be limited to only the files in the selected Project. All features that are regularly available in Qbyte CS Land are available to users working within the Project.
Other users, like contractors, can be set up by the System Administrator to be limited to only work within a specified Project and cannot see any files outside of the project.
Filter Data in Qbyte Optix, Qbyte Exchange or File Terminator
There is an option to filter the data by Project(s) in Qbyte Optix reporting.
In Qbyte Exchange, a Project code can be specified on the Get Data from P2 to limit the data brought back in the spreadsheet.
Use a Project within File Terminator to perform the mass termination of files specified in the Project.
System Administrator
The System Administrator has the following Project Admin abilities:
Specify which users can create projects by granting the correct security roles for Projects.
Reassign a closed Project created by someone that has left the company.
