System Batch Posting GL210
This program posts Unposted Transaction Master (UTM) items to system summary ledger files.
Ledger | File |
---|---|
General Ledger | Chart of Accounts Detail |
Property Ledger | Property Ledger Lease Ledger |
Activity Ledger | Activity Ledger |
Gross AFE Ledger | AFE Detail |
Net AFE Ledger | AFE Detail Net |
Cost Center Ledger | Cost Center Detail Cost Center Activity |
You can select which ledgers to post, and you can run multiple postings concurrently (in different Excalibur sessions), posting the same set of UTMs to different ledgers. Posting normally occurs at the end of the day after entries have been made, either directly or by other processes like A/P Transfer or Revenue Distribution.
The system assumes that transaction coding is correct, but assigns cost center codes to any transactions for accounts that require cost center coding. If the system does not find the account, cost center, or AFE in the relevant master file, it posts the transaction to a skeleton master record (with the description "Built by GL210..").
Normal Processing ends with a report by company of debit and credit totals posted. The system displays a warning if any exceptions (missing masters, or GL out of balance) exist. Click OK to return to the menu.
If you use the Activity Ledger and do Lease Operating Statement reporting from it for both 8/8s and net transactions, you have the option to clear the Activity Ledger check box until after you have processed the JIBs for the month. The 8/8s transactions from AP are available for posting to the Activity Ledger when they are transferred by the Transfer Payables to 'May be paid' (AP145) program. The net activity dated transactions are not generated until JIB invoices have been processed for the associated period end date. If the AP 8/8s transactions are posted to the Activity Ledger prior to the net JIB transactions, the Activity Ledger information reported on Lease Operating Statements is not complete.
