Qbyte CS Land has the ability to view scanned documents housed in a document management system.  Follow these steps to enable the Images functionality.

License Key

If Image has not been included in the Licensed Products list, then contact the Qbyte CS Land support desk to request access.  An updated license key will be provided.

  • To check, see if the Images icon is enabled when viewing a file OR click on the word Help at the top menu and view the list on the left to see if Image is listed.

Security Group

After the correct license key is in place, make sure the SELECT.IMAGE process is in the list of current processes for each specific Security Group that requires access.

Specify which imaging system is being used in the System Table

In the System table, add or update the IMAGE_SYS code to one of these values to specify which imaging system is to be used:

URL_BASED

Generally, this is the code used most often that indicates access to documents will be via URL link.  Some clients may see the code ONBASE, this is the same as URL_BASED.  They both do the same thing.

POWERVISION

(default if no entries specified)

BOTH

Specify both if some scanned images are in either or both document management systems and you need access to both from Qbyte CS Land.

URL Based setup

A URL_IMAGE section must be created in the csserver.ini file.

Note: that the maintenance of this section is not handled in the applications Update Server INI window, it must be done by directly editing the csserver.ini file with a text editor.  Your System Administrator may not have access to make these updates.  If using the P2 Cloud, please contact the Qbyte CS Land helpdesk for assistance to setup Images functionality.

The URL_IMAGE section contains the information on where to find the files for each subject area. It also contains the URL template for each different subject area.  This allows different handling and/or storage areas for each subject area, if required.

A URL_IMAGE section must be created in the csserver.ini file as follows:

[URL_IMAGE]

AMI=K:\Images\AMI\ZZZZZZ

Associate=G:\Images\Associate

Contract=http://p2es-prod.pgf.lan/lkjvfilenum.asp?filenumber=<ZZZZZZ>

Easement=K:\Images\Easement\ZZZZZZ.png

Facilities=M:\Prod\Images\Facilities\ZZZZZZ

Facility=http://p2es-prod.pgf.lan/ lkjvfilenum.asp?filenumber=<ZZZZZZ>

Mineral=K:\Images\Mineral\ZZZZZZ

Pipelines=M:\Prod\Images\Pipelines\ZZZZZZ

Third Party=L:\Admin\Images\Third Party\ZZZZZZ

Service=K:\Images\Service\ZZZZZZ

Surface=K:\Images\Surface\ZZZZZZ

Unit=http://p2es-prod.pgf.lan/ lkjvfilenum.asp?filenumber=<ZZZZZZ>

Well=K:\Well\Images\Wells\ZZZZZZ

The parameters are as follows:

Key (in bold)

Signifies the Qbyte CS Land module and must match the subject column in the cs_module_control table.

Placeholder

The placeholder tells Qbyte CS Land how to interact with the document management system and can be either a file, a folder or passed as a parameter.

-          To open a particular type of file you can specify the file extension in the template. Eg: Easement: ZZZZZZ.jpg.  The placeholder ZZZZZZ, will be replaced with the selected file number.  If you don’t specify a file extension it will be treated like a folder.

-          If multiple images exist for a file they should all be in the same folder and use the folder approach. If there is only ever one image per file,  the file extension approach can be used.

-          If using a document management system, the file number can be passed as a parameter in the URL and it will be used by the document management system.

Note: URL will be supplied by Imagining Company and can be for all systems

PowerVision setup

The System table is used to store the templates that Qbyte CS Land uses to build the pathnames that PowerView uses.  Entries must be added for each module in Qbyte CS Land that has associated PowerVision documents.

Entries are added in the following format:

Code                                     Value

PWV-AMI                            AMI,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-CON                            CONTRACT,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-EASE                           EASEMENT,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-FAC                             FACILITY,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-FACS                          FACILITIES,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-MIN                            MINERAL,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-PIP                              PIPELINES,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-TPA                            TPA,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-SERV                          SERVICE,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-SURF                          SURFACE,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-UNIT                          UNIT,%,%,FILE#,%

PWV-WELLS                        WELLS,%,%,FILE#,%

The parameter's are as follows:

Code

Must match the codes as specified above.

Value

Is the name of the folder within Powervision.  There is a comma separated template for each subject area.

The order of the folders is Room, Cabinet, Drawer, Folder and Document.  The placeholder FILE# will be replaced with the selected file number.

If a level does not apply, use %.

Reports

If customers want to use the available reports and the PowerView data exists in a different database than the Qbyte CS Land data you must specify the name of the PowerView database in the system table entry PWVIMAGEDB.

The name specified must match a [Primary- xxx] entry in the csserver.ini file. eg. If you specify the PWVIMAGEDB as PWVC then there must be a [Primary-PWVC] entry in the csserver.ini file. That entry will contain the connection information for connecting to the PowerView database. If the PowerView data exists in or is accessible from the CS database then this entry is not required or should be blank.

There are currently four cross reference reports (Contract, Mineral, Surface and Well) that identify the PowerView documents that are attached to a particular file number.
