Troubleshooting

Interoperability Service Logs

Whenever the web services are executed, the data being passed may have certain issues, so it is necessary to view the data that was being passed to determine the problem. There are several ways to view these errors. One of the ways is via the Interoperability Service Logs form within the IFS Enterprise Upstream application.

The Interoperability Service Logs form can be accessed via the BASE responsibility. Additionally, this form can be used not only to see the errors but also to see the results of the web services, and to view the JSON file of the data viewing passed.

The content of the information being passed between two different systems, such as IFS Enterprise Upstream and IFS AFE, is captured in a JSON file in the Interoperability Service Logs form within IFS Enterprise Upstream.

After you have launched a web service, you can access the Interoperability Service Logs form, select an operation and click the GET LOGS button. This will display the JSON file that was involved in the web service.

  • The data that originates in IFS Enterprise Upstream will have the GET and the POST operations. You can get the Logs for both of those actions.

  • The services that originate in IFS AFE will have only records with the POST operation.

As a IFS Enterprise Upstream user, you can use this form to see the results of the Web Services. The messages posted on this form are highly informative. You can also see the day and time that a specific Web Service was launched.

You can do an EXPORT of the JSON file by clicking the Export button, and then search the exported file.

Viewing Errors in Outbound Staging Tables form

You can also view errors in the Outbound Staging Table form for data that was transferred from IFS Enterprise Upstream to IFS AFE

Please refer to the specific web service documentation to see some of the errors and how to troubleshoot those errors.

Additionally, refer to the Outbound Staging Tables form documentation for details on this form.

IFS Connector Log

The IFS Connector Log can also provide you with the errors received during the integration of data. Please refer to the Troubleshooting Guide and IFS Connector Log documentation.

Error Messages

The IFS Connector will record all error messages encountered for the workflow and record them in its database.

Data setup in IFS Enterprise Upstream eligible to integrate with IFS AFE will record and display the status of the integration at the record level as well as display the integration error if any in the IFS Enterprise Upstream Outbound Staging Table form, accessible from IFS Enterprise Upstream Base Responsibility under the Interoperability sub-menu.

See the following code locations for a list of associated errors.
