Introduction

IFS Energy & Resources will be activating multi-factor authentication (MFA), ensuring your data is secure by requiring a second authentication mechanism.

Multi-factor authentication, also known as two-factor authentication, is the recommended login method to keep data safe in every industry.

Even should someone obtain your password, they will be unable to log in due to not having access to complete the second tier of authentication.

Prerequisites

You will need to download one of the following applications from your phone or tablet’s app store if you do not already have one installed: Auth0 Guardian, Microsoft Authenticator, or  Google Authenticator.

These apps will drive the MFA process. If you have not used an app for MFA purposes previously, step-by-step guides for each of these authenticator apps are below.

To download one of the apps, please follow these steps from your phone or tablet’s app store:

1. Go into the Google Play Store or Apple Store and search for Auth0 Guardian, Microsoft Authenticator, or Google Authenticator.

2. Click on the Download button.

3. Once downloaded, you will be able to use the app when you log in.

Auth0 Guardian

How to use the Auth0 Guardian app

After downloading the app, navigate on your desktop or laptop to https://cloud.qbyte.com. Log in using your cloud.qbyte.com (previously online.qbyte.com) credentials. If this is your first time logging in with this app, refer to Initial Login. If this is a subsequent login, see Subsequent Logins.

You will need to allow camera access for the MFA app to work. Your phone will receive a notification to acknowledge the login, or simply open your app. Open your phone, and follow your device’s security protocol to acknowledge or reject the login attempt.
