User-Defined Field (UDF) Type codes provide a listing of codes that appear on the User Defined tabs in Master Data for Chart of Accounts, AFE’s, Cost Centres and in the User Defined Info popup on Business Associates . They can contain such codes as tax codes, pool codes, area codes, cross reference codes, etc. There are 10 UDF type codes available for Chart of Accounts and 30 UDF type codes available for AFE’s, Business Associates and Cost Centres.
The User Defined Code Controls screen must first be populated before data can be added to the individual User Defined Field (UDF) Codes.
The User Defined Code Controls screen defines the Name and validation flags for the code whereas the User Defined Codes screen defines what values go in these codes. |
1. To access the User Defined Field (UDF) Codes, navigate to the menu and select Administration → User Defined Codes
2. Perform a query on the Code type by pressing F8 or the Query icon, enter in the code and execute the query by pressing F9 or the Query icon.
You can use wildcarding i.e. inputting CC_UDF% on the code field to limit your search. |
3. Press Page Down and enter in your User Defined Code values and their descriptions. Continue populating the User-Defined Field (UDF) Code as required for each User-Defined Field (UDF) Type.
